William Joseph Finch

William Joseph Finch was born January 22, 1948, in Evansville, IN to the late Rivers Finch Jr. and Elvie Moorehead-Finch passed away on March 12, 2024, while at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, IN,
William was a veteran of the United States Army.
William briefly worked for Whirlpool in his younger days. He knew and loved the Lord he attended New Hope Baptist Church and Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church at one time or another. He loved his cars and spending time with his family, especially his nephews and just sitting in his rocking chair watching old cowboy movies, and if he came in the room and you were in his chair, nothing had to be said, you got up. William also enjoyed going to the Merry Go Round Restaurant and sharing a meal with his family and friends. His gentle spirit will be greatly missed.

William is preceded in death by his parents.

William is survived by his sister who loved him dearly and was also his caregiver; Mary Ann Finch- Brewer, another sister Ruby Day, one nephew whom he loved as his own son; Antonio (Barbara) Tidwell, 2 great-nephews; Isaiah and Noah Tidwell (he loved them all dearly) as well as a host of other extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday from 10 to 11 am with the funeral service beginning at 11 am all at Osborne Funeral Home: burial, Sunset Memorial Park.
