William Glen Compton age 72, born March 5, 1945 in Corydon, KY passed away on October 11, 2017 while at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.
William was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He retired from Columbia Nursing home after 36 years of employment where he was truly loved by his co-workers and the residents.
Glen (as he was known), wouldn’t sit still, he loved meeting people, none of which he treated like a stranger he was always nice to everyone. He would go to the race track to make bets then come home and watch the races. Never a big man, but he loved to eat. You could often find him just sitting on the front porch. Glen will be missed by all who knew him.
Glen is preceded in death by his mother; Addie Harris and step father, Nathanial Harris, father; James C. Compton, son; Adam Blair and brothers; Everett Eugene and James T. Compton.
Glen is survived by his wife of 24 years; Clarice A. Compton, children; Antonio Enrico Glenn, Cameron Blake and Angela Denise Compton, stepchildren; Antonio and Anetra Patterson, brothers; Charles E, Edward, George, Jackie and Johnny Compton and Ricky Harris, sisters; Carolyn Bolden, Martha Foster, Eunice Rhodes, Doris Taylor and Mona Lisa Harris, grandchildren; Kalabra Tramill, Christian Howard, Naiyonna Compton, Camri Compton, Kaleb Compton, Milton Thomas, Faith Clarice Thomas and Ja’Shaun Mitchell, 4 great grandsons, and a host of other extended family and friends.
