Warner V. Payne Jr. (Sugar) 59, of Princeton, IN passed away at 5:15p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. Born June 17, 1958 in Evansville, IN, he was the youngest son of Warner Sr. and Rev. Shirley Payne.
After graduating from F.J.Reitz High School in Evansville, IN, Sugar proudly served our country in the United States Army. He went on to have a successful career working in the Manufacturing industry until he retired.
Sugar was an ordained deacon at Memorial Baptist Church where he loved to serve the Lord. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his parents, grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed shooting a game of pool. In the summer he could always be found working in his yard or outside playing basketball with his grandsons.
Sugar is preceded in death by his grandparents .
Sugar is survived by his devoted and loving wife; Ocia Payne, parents; Warner Sr. and Rev. Shirley Payne, daughters; Teresa (Gerald) Gregory, Myquesa Payne, Shuntika Robinson, Shadava (Nathan) Reavis, sons; Michael Warner, Aaron Robinson, Sedale (April) Berry and Marcus Fitzgerald, beloved sister; Faith Payne and brother; William Payne of Alabama, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday 9 to 11am at Memorial Baptist Church with funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Adrian M. Brooks Sr. will be officiating. Osborne Funeral Home has been entrusted with final care.
