Violet E Collier was born to the late Richard and Laura Collier in Evansville, IN on November 25,1944 to this union five children were born. Violet passed away Monday while at St Mary's Hospital, she was surrounded in love by her family as she made her peaceful journey home.
Violet confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Memorial Baptist Church uner the late Reverend J.W. Hoover. She later moved her membership to her uncles church, the late Rev. Charles Douglas at Mt. Olive Galliee ,where she was a faithful worker in his church. She later returned her membership to the Memorial Baptist Church under the Reverend Adrian M Brooks Sr..
Violet was a faithful and devoted member serving on the Mother’s Board, the culinary committee and the Nurse’s Guild.
Violet had worked as a CNA at Brentwood Golden Living Center for over 15 years, she loved caring for others. Violet’s greatest love was her family. She enjoyed spending time with them, and they never had to guess what was on her mind because she would always let them know. Sissy liked to play cards and going to bingo and doing what she could to help out at church. Her kind and loving spirt will be greatly missed by her children, family and friends.
Along with her parents, Violet was preceded in by her sister Jackie Butler and granddaughter Diamond Carroll.
Violet leaves to cherish many fond memories, her loving companion Herman Goodwin and her children daughters, Regina Collier, of Georgia; Franzetta Collier, of Evansville, In , Nakiatra (Keesha) Collier of Evansville ,two sons Antoine Collier, of Evansville and Herman Collier(LeeAnn), of Evansville,IN.
Violet is also survived by five sisters, Addie Darrett, of Henderson ,KY; Sarah Cartwright, of Indianapolis ,In; Linda(Ronald) Orr, of Jonesboro, GA; Mary Ann Collier, of Evansville; Clara(ANN) Collier, of Evansville; two brothers, Melvin Collier, of Owensboro,ky; Rev. Joseph Collier, of Indianapolis, 14 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces ,nephews cousins extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday 5-7 pm at Memorial Baptist Church, Funeral service will be Monday 11:00 at Memorial, Interment Oak Hill ,Osborne Funeral Home has been entrusted with final care..
