Tyrone Allen Clay was born on April 17, 1963, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Mary Cynthia Hurt. Tyrone entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the age of 62.
Tyrone proudly served in the United States Army from 1981 to 1992. He was a two-time Golden Gloves boxing champion and later worked as a factory employee at Perdue Farms in Washington, Indiana, before retiring. Tyrone was a faithful member of Victory Community Church in Washington, Indiana.
Tyrone loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Scooby. He had a passion for boxing and enjoyed training and mentoring youth in the Washington, Indiana, community.
Tyrone touched the hearts and lives of many and was loved by all who met him. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his mother and adoptive parents, Samuel and Mary Clay, Tyrone was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Grant, Geneva Clements, Rose Clements Townsand, and Brenda Stewart Dean, as well as his aunt, Hattie Avery.
Tyrone leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughters, Tyia Clay (Cecedric Harris) and Ken’drekia Krodel; his sons, Tyrone E. Clay, Kristian Clay (Jordyn), and Laking A. Clay; Bonus daughters, Chiantia Fingers and LeeLee Presley; grandchildren, Issach Clay, Kingston Clay, Kai Clay, Ava Clay, and Mya Clay; his sister, Iona Grant; brothers, Terry (Becky) Clements, Lucian Clements, Timothy Clements (Stephanie), and William (Kay) Clements; a special nephew/son, Tony Pegue; a special niece, MeMe Pegue Lloyd; longtime partner, Shelby Krodel; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
