Terrence Skelton

August 18, 1962 — June 20, 2024

Terrence Skelton, affectionately known by his family and friends as T-Bird, was born on August 18, 1962, in St. Louis, MO to the parents of James Ira and Marie Skelton who preceded him in going home to our Lord and Savior. He was the second of five children, three brothers and two sisters, of which Carolyn Sue preceded him in death. Terrence answered the call to return home on June 20, 2024, after a brief period of declining health.

Early in life, with his family, Terrence traveled to many parts of the country and lived near Air Force Bases in Massachusetts, Montana, Kokomo Indiana, and the Philippines as part of his father's military service. In the Philippines he practiced Karate and earned the rank of green belt. Upon returning to Evansville, Terrence graduated from F.J. Reitz High School where he played Middle Linebacker for the Panthers. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Air Force and trained as a medical technician. Terrence also enjoyed cooking. He worked for many years at the Executive Inn as a Sous Chef where he expanded is culinary skills. In his spare time, Terrence enjoyed watching college football with friends.

Terrence is survived by bothers and sister; Orlando (Kennette) Skelton and April Marie Skelton of Princeton Junction, NJ and Paul Skelton; aunts and uncles, Carolyn Sue (Gerald) Matthews of Flint MI, Connie Diamond Jackson of Atlanta, Ga, Denise Hall, Eratus Jackson, and Jesse Hall of St. Louis; nieces and nephews Kristina, Helaina, and Wynton Skelton of Princeton Junction, NJ, Tanirra (Faraji) Hillman-Garth, Asa, Aaron, Eric of Evansville and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 28th from 10 to 11 a.m. with funeral to follow at 11 a.m. all at Osborne Funeral Home. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
