Ta’Sharra Nichole Terry was born on November 30, 1984 to the proud parents of Rev. Kevin S. Terry and Shannon L. McNary. Ta’Sharra, un-expectantly departed for her flight home to glory on August 14, 2017 at 8:42 p.m. at Deaconess Hospital.
Ta’Sharra attended Hebron Elementary, and Plaza Park Middle School where she was an honor student who participated in various activities, and sports. She was an avid sports fan. In 8th grade, Ta’sharra was invited to a Ten Star Basketball camp in Gastonia, North Carolina. She played in many basketball girls leagues with her best friend Erica Dorsey Crawford. Ta’Sharra had a fond love for the University of North Carolina Tar heels with dreams and goals of someday playing for them; wearing her favorite pair of high- top Grant Hill shoes ��.
Ta’Sharra had the opportunity to travel with cousin Bre-Bre to Washington D.C. to visit many historical monuments; attend a luncheon with former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and toured the White House. She traveled to Chicago and met Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham; attended a concert and met MC Hammer who loved to play with her hair. Ta’Sharra also went to Disney and Sea world; attended a luncheon on children issues; she had the opportunity to go to the Bahamas and interactive with children from Germany; met with children from a country of Africa/Uganda where she participated in African dance class, and she performed at the local museum; she went to Nasa Space Museum (Huntsville Alabama) and toured many colleges;just to name a few! She was a very diverse young lady who enjoyed meeting many people; always with a smile.
She later attended Harrison High School where she was guided by her favorite counselor, Ms. Linda Henderson;and then went on to continue her education at Indiana State University with studies in Marketing and Advertising.
Ta’Sharra was blessed to have her mother, father, grandparents, family and friends who provided much love for her life.
Ta’Sharra was employed at Alorica in Terre Haute, Indiana for over 7 years, and later returned to her roots in (Evansville, IN) to be closer to her family. Ta’sharra was employed at Mead Johnson Nutrition as an Consumer Product Specialist, where she constantly talked about how much she loved working with her co-workers: Ms. SherryGarrad, and Ms. Patsy Collins.
Ta’Sharra was always outgoing with a caring heart and a contagious smile on her face. She has truly left an example to all, how a loving and humble Christ-like attitude is demonstrated. Her love for her brother was unbreakable…her favorite song that she loved to hear KeVontae sing is “My Soul Is Anchored”. her love for her children as a mother was unconditional. She trusted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a very early age under the leadership of the late Pastor Douglas F. Smith at the Greater St. James Baptist Church.
Ta’Sharra was proceeded in death by grandparents the late Deacon Rudolph V. Terry Sr., and Mother Louise N. Terry, John Harrison McNary, and Loretta Nunn McNary. She is survived by her father Rev. Kevin S. Terry, mother, Shannon L Terry -McNary, brother, KeVontae S. Terry. She also leaves to cherish two children, Trinity N. Norman and Trey Z. Norman Jr., and Ta’Sharra’s high school sweetheart &fiancé’ Trey Z. Norman Sr. Pleasekeep Trey Sr. in your prayer’s as he barks on this journey with two young children. Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Ta’Sharra also leaves behind a host of uncles and aunts: Dr. R. V Terry Jr. (Beverly) Pastor Clarence R. Terry Sr. (Carrie), Timothy Wayne Terry (Maria), Mark A. Terry, Michael L. Terry (Anita), Randi Cathey, Rev. Rodney McNary, Reginald J. McNary, Geneva Baltzell (faye), Rose Mercer (Randy), Agnes Small, God mother Christine Barrett, and a host of cousins and friends.
The family has request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Trust set up for her children made payable to Trey Z. Norman Sr..
Funeral Service will be 1:00pm Saturday at Zion Missionary Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 11:00 am at the church.Osborne Funeral Home has been entrusted with final care.
