Slyvia Anne Davis

July 20, 1940 — September 24, 2017

Sylvia Davis (Mem-ma as the world knew her) was born in Worthington, OH, July 20, 1940. She was proceeded in death by her parents Florence Zimmerman- Cox and Lloyd Williams Sr. and step mother Pearl Williams, along with her brothers DuShaune Williams and Lloyd Williams, Jr and sister Shirley Ann Douglas. On Sunday September 24, 2017, she was called upon to be our angel in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

Sylvia (Mem-ma) was a staple in her family and community, as well. She was the CEO of a large family that extended far beyond the reach of her three biological children. She spent her days often working in Administration for companies such as Inland Container, Bristol-Myers Squibb and C.A.P.E where she continued to collect children under her wings. Sylvia was a devoted member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church, and served on the Usher Board for many years. Sylvia loved to travel and she never missed a beat without her heels. Mem-ma’s heart was pure and she lifted spirits wherever she went. She was the kindest, sweetest woman that one could ever meet. She would invite you into her home, feed you and give you a place to sleep and make you feel like family without a second thought. The outpour of love and respect given to her was unlike any ever seen before. In her heart she was everyone’s Mem-ma and the love was genuine whenever you were around her.

Sylvia leaves to cherish fond memories her children Denino Davis (Cynthia), Demario Davis, Demetria Thomas (Jeff). Sister Paula Davis and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great -great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
