Roosevelt Hall Jr., 73 of Evansville, Indiana was born on February 25, 1948 to Elizabeth Simpson and Roosevelt Hall Sr in Scott, Mississippi. On February 15,2022 Roosevelt Hall Jr, gained his heavenly wings in Newburgh ,Indiana surrounded by the love of his family.
Roosevelt was the oldest of 12 children. He grew up in Greenville, Mississippi before moving to Evansville, Indiana and graduated from Central High School in 1967. In February 1968 he was drafted into the Army and stationed in Germany. While in the Army he became an Executive Chef. After coming home from the Army Roosevelt worked for the City of Evansville -Traffic Engineering Department for 31 years before retiring in 2004.
He loved riding his bike, grilling, baking and trying out new recipes for family and friends. He also enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, playing video games, collecting baseball and football cards, photography, telling jokes and talking about his childhood dog named "Jack".
Roosevelt was proceeded in death by his mother Elizabeth Hall and father Roosevelt Hall Sr, and his brother Donald Hall and grandson LaRen Lionel Hall.
Roosevelt leaves to cherish his wife Zelma Gamble-Hall ,son Lavion Juarez Hall, daughters Alicia Rene Hall and Vanessa Lafaye Hall Arvay (Matthew), and two sons he helped raise James LaTroy Mitchell, and Jason Lamont Mitchell (Jennifer). Sisters Gloria Baker (Randal), Denise, and Brenda; Brothers Willie Earl, Archester (Danita), Charles (Ruby), Tommy (Keley), James, Maurice, and Alonzo. 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Anyone who knew or talked to Roosevelt for more than five minutes would hear him say "I'm just happy!"
A visitation will be held Saturday 10 to 11 am with funeral to follow at 11am at Oak Hill Cemetery Chapel.
