Rodney Lynn Fellows was born on November 9, 1966. He was a bright child, showing an early interest in drawing and automotive mechanics. Rodney attended Evansville-Vanderburgh County schools, graduating from Harrison High School in 1985. Upon graduation, Rodney enlisted in the United States Army. He professed his belief in Jesus Christ as a young man, attending St. James Baptist Church. Rodney recently shared with his family news of the rededication of his life to Christ through baptism.
Rodney was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. Many throughout the community commented on his kindness. He was a generous friend, often sharing his last with those who were worse off than himself. He is fondly remembered as a brilliant thinker with a caring heart. He left this world too soon, but left a legacy of love, despite life’s challenges.
Rodney is survived by his mother, Ruby LaJoyce Johnson; sisters Dawn LaJoyce Ridley, Kimberly Loftis Livingston (Theodis) and Yvonne Herring; aunts Aurelia Fox and Anna Sue Winstead (Steve); uncle Ronnie Fellows (Lawanna); nieces Kennedy LaJoyce Ridley-Nash and Sienna Gale Livingston; cousins Carlos Fellows, Carla Fellows-Ogburn (Ramon), Michelle Fellows, Karen Fellows, Yvonne Fellows, Yvette Fellows, Carl Duerson, Jr., Tracey Fellows; and a host of other cousins and friends.
