Robert Douglas Gold

ROBERT DOUGLASS GOLD was born on May 21, 1946 to the union of Roy & Nannie Gold in Evansville, Indiana. He was the 9th of ten children. His parents and nine siblings preceded him in death.

ROBERT or "CHUCKIE" as he was fondly called by all those who knew and loved him, was raised in Evansville. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at a young age and was baptized at Zion Missionary Baptist Church. After attending Central High School, he served in the United States Navy. After leaving the Navy, he settled in Seattle, Washington, where he lived for the next forty years or so. While living there, he worked for the Boeing Aerospace Company until his retirement. He returned home to Evansville about fifteen years ago because he wanted to be close to his sisters & brother.

CHUCKIE was devoted to his family, and he was always there for them. He made the time to care for each of his brothers and sisters until their passing. He also took care of his nieces and nephews by opening his home to them, babysitting, feeding them, and doing what he could for them. He constantly complained but never said no. When it came to giving, he had a heart of GOLD indeed!

CHUCKIE lived his life to the fullest. He loved to read his daily newspaper (yes, he still read his paper), his books or just relaxing in peace and quiet by himself. He also enjoyed listening to smooth jazz music, playing cards and sipping on a good glass of brandy. His giving spirit, his smile, and the way he could rock a hat, will truly be missed.

CHUCKIE leaves to cherish his memory: his three children Ahmad, Shelly, and Alejandro; his 9 grandchildren: Coryell, Cornell, Denzell and Raphaell, Ariana, Anthony, Justine, Jayle and Kingston; his special longtime friends, Thomas and Sample and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 27th, 10 to 11a.m. with funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. all at Osborne Funeral Home.
