Robert Lee Futrell was born on July 26, 1937, in Evansville, IN. to the late Charles and Shirley Howard Futrell. Evansville was his home, and he spent the duration of his life there.
A large part of his life was devoted to his church, Nazarene Baptist Church, where he took great pride in being an Usher and serving on the usher board. He also spent his entire career in the military serving in the Air Force. While in the Air Force he discovered a love of experimentation.
He continued to experiment at home the rest of his life.
In addition to spending time at church, Brother Futrell loved traveling. At the age of 85 he went on the honors flight to Washington, DC. And made sure to bask in every moment as he did with every moment of life,
