Robert Lee Farmer

November 3, 1934 — August 7, 2018

Rev. Robert L. Farmer (PeeWee) went to be with the Lord and his Queen on Aug. 7,2018 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on Nov. 9, 1934 in Morganfield KY to the late James N. Farmer and Emma M. Briscoe Farmer.
He loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. He was the pastor of Greenridge Baptist Church in Basket KY. in 1968 until retiring. He was a member of the NAACP and once served as president of the Black Coalition and served on the board of Drug Crisis Referral Center.
He retired from SIGECO, now Vectren in 1998, after 31 yrs. of service. He was a foreman over Buildings and Grounds. He also worked at then St. Mary’s Hospital and was a janitor at Washington Square Mall.
He loved shooting pool and playing checkers at Carver Senior Center, up to the time of his queen and his illness.
He was a great teacher, provider, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Although he was known for his sense of humor his knowledge and wisdom will also be truly missed.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Jacqueline D. Farmer of 58yrs, sons, Mark S. Farmer and Timothy W. Farmer. Parents James N. Farmer and Emma M. Briscoe Farmer. Brothers, Carl N. Farmer, Hillery Farmer, James M. Farmer Sr, Sisters, Shirley L. Vanleer, Esther M. Patton.
Left to cherish his memory, daughter Roberta Farmer, sons Robert and David Farmer from Evansville, which were his caregivers, daughter in-laws Betsy(Patsy) Farmer of Ft. Wayne, IN., Evelyn Farmer of McKinney, Texas, brother Charles H. Farmer(Carolyn) of Evansville, sisters Ruth Fellows and Mary Sanderson both of St. Louis, Mo. Sister in-law Helen Farmer of Evansville.
16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
