Robert Lewis Blane was born on Jan 23,1951 to Reverend Lloyd Lee Shaw & Katherine Shamwell in Clarksville, TN. He attended St. Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarksville and accepted Christ at the young age of 10. He completed his education and graduated from Burt High School in Clarksville, TN in 1969.
Robert relocated to Evansville, IN in 1972 with his sister and her family. He enlisted in the military shortly after, leaving in 1975 with an Honorable Discharge. He was employed for many years at Bristol Myers and retired after 20+ years. He later began part time employment at Wolf's Auto Auction, formally retiring thereafter.
He loved being a dad to his son Tiko and daughter Deltrice. Robert looked forward to family gatherings, card games, cooking out and watching sports and listening to music. Robert had a great sense of style, he didn't miss an opportunity to wear a suit, he loved to dance, he had an extensive vinyl album collection. Later in life he was a doting grand-dad and loved traveling with his family.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Blane and his father, Reverend Lloyd Lee Shaw. He leaves lasting memories to his mother; Katherine Shamwell, son; Tiko, (Kashonna) Blane; daughter Deltrice Watkins, step-daughters Jeanetta Morgan and Wanda Hopson. Sisters Nellie (Harry) Hollins of Evansville, Sadorlee Jackson and Joynell Kelly, both of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, Thomas, Sr. (Elaine) Blane of Evansville and Charles Blane of Clarksville, TN.
Grandchildren, Andre, Anber, Khariyah, Richard, Jalia, Kilynn, Khloe, Jaelynn, Arnetta, Jonita & Mario. His best friend Kathryn McKinley, a host of great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation will be held Sat, April 20th from 10 to 11am with funeral service to follow at 11:00am all at Greater Hope Baptist Church.
