Richard Robinson, 60 forever known as "Pops" hit the glory road to be with the Lord October 25th, 2022, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. Richard was born in Newark, New Jersey to Annie Lou Robinson-Davis on January 27, 1962.
Richard was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Pops was known for his several phrases like "Aye Baby" and "Mind your business, mind your game" said only the way he could say it. Richard loved riding his bike. He would ride around town and assist people around the community with tasks such as cutting the grass and collecting cans. He would do this regularly and was appreciated for his helping hands. Pops also loved spending all his time with his grandkids. While spending time with his grandkids, he taught them fun things like riding bikes and doing cartwheels because as he would say, "You gotta learn". Richard served his country in the United States Army throughout his teenage years. During his time in the military, He received the marksman badge, the sharpshooter badge, and a badge for serving overseas. He received his honorable discharge from the Army for his services in 1988. Richard will always be remembered for his welcoming smile and smooth walk. He will be missed dearly.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Lou Robinson-Davis, and brothers John Robinson, Tommy Lee Robinson, and Emmanuel Jr.
Richard leaves his everlasting memories to his daughters; Terroyln Smith-Williams, Robyn Henderson, Richell Helm (Frederick), Raenell Robinson (Terence), sisters; Terry Cargill, Lou Ethel Davis, brothers; Alonzo Davis and Curtis Ricks; 8 grandchildren; special friends; Kelley Madison and James "Tag" Kemp; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday 10 to 11am with funeral to follow at 11am at Oak Hill Cemetery Chapel.
