Jerome Meriweather, 57, of Evansville passed away on June 30, 2025. Jerome was born on December 28, 1967 to the Rev. Judge L. Meriweather Sr., and Anna L. Meriweather (Slaughter).
He was a graduate of Bosse High School in 1986. While at Bosse High School he played basketball and helped to lead his teammates to two sectional championships in the 1985/86 season under Coach Joe Mullan. He attended Olney College in Illinois.
Jerome moved to New York and became a member of New Jerusalem Workship Center where he also became an ordained minister. Jerome became an author and wrote a book titled: My Life Becoming a Minister. He met his loving wife Ramona Ellis in New York where they were married.
Jerome and his wife did charitable work in New York for the homeless. They both worked together with food pantries to distribute food to homeless shelters and the homeless living outdoors. He and his wife enjoyed traveling together and going on cruises. He worked for FJC securities at a local hospital for 10 years. Jerome has a smile larger than life.
Surviving Jerome are his wife Ramona of 10 years, two children, son Jerome Jr. of Indianapolis, daughter Katelyn, Tordglen of Radcliff, Ky, 4 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Sisters, Christine Northington (Dana), Geraline Cobb (Bruce), Katherine McCreary (Ted) all of Evansville, Brothers, Judge Jr. of St. Louis, Mo, Robert, Gary, Gregory, Timothy Meriweather, all of Evansville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Doris J. Hodge.
