Quince Etta Meriwether Hurst was born in Evansville, IN on September 15, 1954, a daughter of the late Eleanor (Henderson) Meriwether and Ernest Frank Wesley Meriwether , SR. Quince,65, peacefully passed away at Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehab on January 27,2020 surrounded in love by her family
She retired from St Vincent’s where she worked in Environmental Services Department. Ouince was loved by her coworkers and the patients whom she always took time to talk to. They even caught her dancing and singing while working and posted a video of her that went viral. Quince had a heart of gold, she never met a stanger. She loved bingo, dancing, cooking, shopping and watching her game shows and Judge Judy. But most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and siblings.
She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Hurst Sr., parents, grandparents Nettie Quarels Henderson and Isreal Bud Henderson, Alma Tramil Meriwether and Isiah Meriwether ,sister Babara Ann Meriwether – Lynch and nephews Patience Battles, Gervon Meriwether, Lance Meriwether, Ronald Meriwether and Ryan Merriwether and niece Blondie Hurst Bates..
Quince is survived by two daughters, Renita Hurst Keisha Hurst, three sons Andre Meriweither Sr., Roy Hurst Jr. and Frank Hurst. Quince is also survived by sisters Rebecca Meriwether and brothers Ernest Meriwether Jr. (Karen), Jessie Meriwether (Faresa), Larry Meriwether Sr. (Camelia), and Edward Meriwether (Donita Cooper), 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, Goddaughers Denise Outlaw and Karen Sandefur, caregivers Tangela Pegue, Tequa Fingers and Ranisha McNary. Dear friends Dorothy Harris, Clorine Dodd, Mary and Jeff Garrett, Mikella Gills, Best Friends Mary Ann Collier, Donita and Walter Jones, extended family and friends.
Funeral Service 11:00 am Saturday February 8, 2020 at Memorial Baptist Church, Evansville, IN, and visitation will begin at 10:00am at the church until 11:00 am .Osborne Funeral Home entrusted with final care.
Interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
