Peter was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 3, 1941, the son of the late Izetta (Walker) and Peter Rembert, Sr. On Sunday November 8, 2015 at St Mary’s Hospital surrounded in love of his family Peter passed away peacefully.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Pete, a skilled tradesman was one of the first African American Engineering Model Makers at Whirlpool where he retired after 43 1/2 years. He had been a member of Tradesmen Club and the Local 808.
Pete was a faithful member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church where he was an Honorary Deacon, member of Men Chorus, faithful member of the Rock of ages Sunday school Classes, Men’s precept classes and the Oasis Ministry.
Pete enjoyed spending time with his family and friends many of whom remember his career as “P.J. the D.J” gracing the airways with his mellow voice and the latest tunes. Peter found relaxation in fishing, and was an avid fan of basketball, football “Go Steelers” and even soccer.
Left to cherish fond memories his devoted wife Patricia A. Rembert, two sons Peter L Rembert(Perdita) and Michael C Rembert, both of Evansville and a sister Dorothy Y Thompson, of Indianapolis. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister-in- law Diana Wharton White(Jonathan) and brother-in-law Willoyd Wharton Jr (Wanda). Devoted Friends Jack and Anna Ruth Tapp. Special nieces Nicole Thompson and Majerle Massey along with a host of family and friends.
