Peggy Jo Gulley

January 3, 1958 — July 15, 2022

Peggy Jo Gulley was born on January 3, 1958, to Willa Mae and George Gulley Sr. A well- off family of entrepreneurs. Her parents ran a strict but close-knit of household that believed in family always sticking together. Her parents owned and operated Willa Mae's snack shack, where she discovered her passion for cooking. As a child Peggy was raised in Lincoln Erie Homes until her family purchased the family home at 1116 Cherry Street. She was a daddy's girl who was very smart in school and adored her parents.
Peggy attended Central High School but graduated from Bosse High School in 1977 where she maintained a strong bulldog presence and sponsorship. To which her fellow generations of children and grandchildren followed in her footsteps.
She worked for Saint Vincent' s daycare as a teacher where she will take her children to work with her. She was also a lifeguard. She worked numerous retail stores. She was also an original crew member at Casino Aztar Riverboat as a lead seamstress and costume coordinator, then transferred to the hospitality department and became supervisor of greeting for travel visitors and tour bus patrons. Also working as a home healthcare worker. She continued showcasing her natural born talents in the church at Memorial Baptist Church alongside Rev Adrian Brooks by serving on the mother's board and being lead cook for many church functions such as, vacation bible school and grieving families repass gatherings. She was a part of the HIV ministries and the transportation board of the church and the greeters of the church. She also served her community by always devoting her time for voter's registration and being a mentor to all the neighborhood children and anyone who came across her path using that gulley infrastructure by taking over and making everything run smoothly.
Peggy had many titles Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Auntie, Best friend, Caregiver, disciplinary, Boss, Motivator, and fashionista she was real definition of a "super woman" '
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Willa Mae Bradley Gulley, siblings George Gulley Jr. (Maxine), Chiquita Gulley Johnson, Catherine Gulley.
She is survived by her children, sons; Michall (LaRhonda) Walker, Khristapher (Fron'Shea) Walker, Christopher(Mystee) Mosbley, Donovan (Brandi) Hendricks, Jamal Wilson, Brandon Artis, Lamar and Shawn Allen , Leroy Butler, daughters; Kameelah (Mykul) Martin, Angela Higgins, siblings; Alice Gulley, Mark Gulley, Natashia (Watez) Phelps, Fannie Gulley, Teresa Carter, Michael (Diane) Gulley, children fathers, Joseph Walker and Fred Martin, grandchildren; Kyndall Mcintosh, Josh Martin, Michael Walker Jr. Mykael Walker, Myauri Stinson, Myaijah Stinson, Malaysia Stinson, Mary Jo Walker. Tiance Walker, Khris'shea Walker, Addylyn Walker, Knowlyn Wilbourn, Jason Goss, Alexis Davis. Arionna Davis. Avion Simpson, Angel Steen, Angelo Steen, Jamir Simpson, Drakkar Berry, Christopher Jr. Mosbley, Carrington Mosbley, Chance Mosbley, Chandler Mosbley, Brielle Artis, Brandon Artis Jr., David Pike Jr., Tirek Simpson, Jasmine, Alicia Dowell, Arius Higgins, Azion, Alexanderia Higgins, Parker, Aerial Jones (husband James), Zephaniah, James Jr, and Kourtlandt Martin, grandpups; Jefe and Annabell.
A visitation will be held Thursday 9 to 11 am with funeral to follow at 11:00am at Memorial Baptist Church.
