Orlando Paul Bruin

November 19, 1961 — June 2, 2024

Orlando Paul Bruin was born to Kenneth and Helen Paulina Washington Bruin on November 19, 1961,and traveled home on June 2, 2024, at his home. He professed his love for Christ at an early age and was a life-long member of New Hope Baptist Church.
“GOD calls us to be peace-loving people in all that we do. For in Him, we know eternal peace, and so he instructs us to sow peace with others. “
Known as Paul or Bruno, he was a graduate of Benjamin Bosse High School, where he played football and played in the Marching Band. He was in the All-City Orchestra and Band. Paul would wear his football jersey and perform in the band, then leave and go out on the football field to play. Paul was multi-talented and could play several instruments. He was in a local band called the Old School Players, performing at local events.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Paulina Washington Bruin, and brother, Darron Mikal Bruin.
He is survived by his Father Kenneth Bruin (d. Paulina), his sisters Kennette Skelton (Orlando) of West Windsor NJ, and Lisa Bruin (Kristina Jones) and Sisters of the Heart Lavonda Boyd and Lisa Boyd-Davis.
He was a “Fun Dad” and loving father to his children and bonus children. His favorite things to do with the children were to play Scrabble and have Movie Night. He is survived by O’Rion Bruin, O’Neal Bruin, Orlando Simms- Bruin, Orlandia Manning, Zandra Clements, Serita Cabell, Shunrria Pruitt, Dav’Esha Pruitt, David Pruitt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Paul was an Associate Minister at the Alpha Omega Burning Bush Ministries. He served in this capacity for ten and a half years under Reverend Anthony Hughes. He also served as an Associate Minister under Rev. Gerald Arnold and Rev. Fred Moore.
Paul opened his home and heart to anyone who needed help, without judgment. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him
Visitation will be held Friday, June 14th from 10 to 11 am with funeral to follow at 11:00am all at New Hope Baptist Church.
