Nasir Smith

Nasir O. Smith "Munk", age 16, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14th, at Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Nasir brought joy and happiness as a newborn son to his parents, Tameisha Simmons and Fabian Sr, in Newburgh, IN on July 30th, 2007. Nasir was a student "Junior" at Castle High School. Nasir was a loving, strong willed, and caring young man that loved his family and friends dearly. Nasir truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; playing basketball, rapping his favorite song lyrics to his favorite artist "NBA YoungBoy," hanging out with his friends, family, spending lots of time with his nieces and nephews, and working with children where he was employed at "Metro's Sports Center." Nasir was known by many people and would touch every soul he had encountered with.

Nasir is survived by his parents, Tameisha and Fabian Sr; his brothers, Eshawn Smith, De'Ariel Simmons, and Fabian Smith Jr; his sisters, Da'Veishira Simmons, Markeisha Simmons, and Makeila Simmons; his nieces, Nylah Harris, Ky'Riel Skinner, Alyse Cunningham, D'Aubri Simmons, Malaya Swatsley, and Loyalti Simmons; his nephews, Deyton Smith and Jai'Aun Collins; grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Nasir is preceded in death by his grandmother Janessa Riley and great grandmother Willie Riley.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am at St. James Baptist Church with a visitation from 10 until service time. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery following service.
