Michael Anthony Robertson "Black Def" born February 12, 1959, in Henderson, Ky to Eugenia McFarland Robertson Vincent and Ernest W. Robertson departed this life on Friday July 7, 2023.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age at Norris Chapel Baptist church under Rev. Austin Bell. He later become a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served on the audio-visual Ministry. He worked at Menth Carpet and Sitex Uniforms. He was a graduate of Henderson County High School.
Michael's passion for music was shown in the many different places he had visited. Michael "black def" was known as the best DJ in the tri-state area. On Friday nights, those in attendance have a "black def attack". He never met a stranger. He loved family gatherings and being "the life of the party".
Michael is preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Retha Miller, Gerenia Stott, brothers; Ronald Walker and Guillam Hughes.
He leaves in cherish in loving memory his wife, Mildred "Cleo" Robertson, Children; Ashley Staten, Michael Robertson (Tyrelle), Tyrece Robertson, LaDonna (Robert) Allen, Twan (Jayma) Gilbert, David Stalks, and Maylon Starks, granddaughters; Ma'Khya Robertson, Ka'Mhya Robertson, Mi'Auna Robertson, Tyraya Robertson, Azion Robertson, Bianca (Charles) Price, and Courtney Allen. Grandsons; MiKeal Robertson, Kaison Robertson, Michael Robertson Jr. Jayceon Robertson, and Dayton Gilbert and 7 Great-Grandchildren, brothers; Christopher McFarland, Gary Robertson Sr. and Lawrence Robertson Sr., sisters; Wanda Green, Marva Robertson, Theresa (Calvin) O'Neal, and Stella Hughes, one aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 13th 9 to 11am with funeral to follow at 11am at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, Fernwood Cemetery, Henderson, KY.
