Reverend Melvin Lee Norfleet, 72, of Evansville, IN was born in Gatesville, N.C. on April 1, 1948, a son of the late Annie Lee (Norfleet) and Daniel Norfleet. Rev. transitioned from this life for his eternal life November 25, 2020.
Rev. Melvin was a member of Bethany Apostolic Church, He served as the pastor of the former Christ Temple Church in Evansville. Melvin received a Bachelor’s Degree from Aenon Bible College in Columbus, OH. He later retired from Whirlpool.
Rev. Norfleet loved to spread the love and word of God. He would share the word with whomever would listen. He was a man of God and lived accordingly.
During his time of rest , he loved to fish and he enjoyed traveling.
Rev. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife; Dixie Lee Lyons- Norfleet.
Rev. Melvin is survived by sons; Christopher and Shaun Norfleet, sisters; Daisy Norfleet and Erma Brown, brothers; Otis and James Norfleet, 7 grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday, 10 to 11am with funeral to follow at 11:00am at Oak Hill Cemetery Chapel. Osborne has been entrusted with final care.
