Mayme Loretta Dycus, 70, received her wings on Sunday, August 18, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born to the late Earl and Mayme (Phipps) Carson on October 18, 1953, in Springfield, TN.
Loretta attended Benjamin Bosse High School and worked as an EVSC special needs bus assistant for 20 years. Loretta was a humble and faithful servant of God. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, serving as church secretary and pianist for many years.
Her kindness and generosity had no bounds. Loretta was a loving sister, auntie, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to thrift shop and cherished time well spent with family.
In addition to her parents, Loretta is predeceased by her brother Eugene Carson and her sister Leslie (Carlos) Sanders. Loretta's sweet spirit will be carried forward by her beloved daughter Lea (Danny) Sconiers, whom she devoted her life to and raised to be a beautiful woman of God, her handsome grandson William Caedyn Mason, whom she adored, watched over and was very proud of.
She is survived by her brother-in -law, Rev. Carlos Sanders Sr., her nephews: Rodney Carson, Carlos Sanders Jr., Brent Sanders, Bryant Sanders, Andre Sanders, her nieces: Stacia (Jason) Smith, Candice Whitfield, Chandra (Shawn) Ingler, Teresa (Earl) McNary; and a host of cousins, great nieces/nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held 10:00am at Greater Hope Christian Church located at 1228 Lodge Ave, Evansville, IN. Funeral service will commence at 11:00am with Rev. Dr. Bobby Tinner officiating. Burial at Oakhill Cemetery. Repass will be held at C.K. Newsome Center after burial.
