On Resurrection Sunday April 21, 2019 God sent his Angels to University Nursing & Rehabilitation Center to receive Margaret Gail Collins. Margaret transitioned peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy burden and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. Margaret entered into this life September 26, 1938 to Anna Belle Layne & Mac Dora Williams. She attended Lincoln High School, graduating with the Class of 56. With her strong will and determination she went on to earn two Associate Degrees from Lockyear College. Margaret was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church where she participated in many auxiliaries such as The Knight and Ladies of Peter Claver and The Morning Delight Breakfast Club. She worked at Cape (Community Action Program of Evansville) Learning Center as a Family Advocate & Evansville School Corporation for many years. Margaret was proceeded in by Mother , Anna Belle Layne Thomas and Father Mac Dora Williams.
Margaret leaves to cherish in her memory her children, Steven (Dianna) Williams, Patrick Collins, Anthony Collins, April (Dan) Johnson, and Derrick Collins all of Evansville IN, Melody Collins of Atlanta GA. One of Margaret’s greatest joys was spending time with her 14 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and her many Cousins. Although Margaret was an only child she had many longtime friends that became a Sister-hood.
Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Memorial Baptist Church, 605 Canal Street, Evansville IN. Rev. Dr. Adrian Brooks & Rev. Connie Baltzell with be officiating the service. Wake service will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM with the service immediately following.
