Madeline T Brooks

January 21, 1940 — June 30, 2018

Madeline T. Brooks was born on January 21, 1940 to the late Matlee and William Traylor. She departed this life on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 8:40pm at Solarbron Rehabilitation Center.

She professed her love for Christ at an early age in Madisonville, KY. She graduated from Rosenwald High School and attended Kentucky State University and Ivy Tech Community College.

Madeline had been employed at Sears, Dejongs, Liberty Baptist Church, Welborn Clinic, and American General. She was most recently employed as a Legal Assistant at Springleaf. As a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church, she was very active in the church activites. This included the Usher Board and the Pastor Anniversary Committee. She was also a memeber of The Women’s Auxiliary of American Legion.

On June 10, 1961, she married Howard W. Brooks and they have three daughters and one son, Karen Brooks and Karol Malone (Geoffrey) residing in Evansville, In, Kerri (Darryl) Simpson residing in Fayetteville, NC and John Nelson also residing in Evansville, In who are left to cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her parents and great granddaughter, Dezi’Ana Marion.

She is survived by nine grand grandchildren, Kalee (Melanie) Albert, Keshia (De’Andre) Coleman, Quiana Malone, Tahirah Brooks-Hall, Bilal Abdul-Wali, Kameron Malone, Tamera Sebree, Omar Abdul-Wali, and Hanna Nelson. Eight great grandchildren, Mia Christian-Albert, Ka’Shawn Eastwood, Dez’NyAna Marion, Raelyn Smith, Kaleem Abdul-Wali, Qui’Aryon Marion, Kyndall Coleman, Nima Abdul-Wali. Four sisters, Wila (Paul) Hatchett of Bowling Green, KY., Esther (Bernard) Weems of Douglasville, GA., Mae Dean of Indianapolis, IN., and Beverly Clark of Wales, MI., one brother, Jerry Clark of Evansville, IN., and nieces and nephews.
