Reverend Luecrease "Lue" Guest passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Her 75 years were filled with love and service of our Lord and Savior.
Lue was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on August 12, 1945, a daughter of the late Leola (Wooten) Leslie and Dancy Poindexter.
Rev. Guest was a devout member of Alexander AME Church. She loved her church family and took joy in working in the church. Rev. Guest pastored Wayman AME Chapel in Lyles Station, IN and Bethel AME of Mt Vernon, IN before retirement.
Lue was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed family vacations. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who where her pride and joy.
Lue found enjoyment sewing and making clothes, cooking,shopping and playing spades with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed experiencing different cultures and adventures through traveling.
Her warm,loving,caring spirit will be forever remembered and greatly missed.
Lue was preceded in death by her stepfather, elder brother, son in law and granddaughter.
She leaves behind 3 loving daughters, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, a sister and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be Monday, April 12, 2021 10-11am at Alexander AME Church with Funeral service beginning at 11am at the church.
Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
