Lorene(Hawes)Adcock 83, passed from this earthly existence into God’s glory on February 14th,2018 at Columbia Healthcare in Evansville,IN.Lorene was second-born to Virgil and Mildred (Banks) Hawes on February 21st.,1934 in Hebbardsville, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Douglas High School in Henderson, KY.

Lorene’s early Christian dedication was developed at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and upon marriage to William “Bill” Adcock,became a member of Grace Lutheran Church, now Grace and Peace Lutheran. During her many years of membership, Lorene served on the Altar Guild, mostly as president. She also served on the finance committee.

After 20 plus years with EVSC, Lorene retired, having served in the capacity of reading aide, classroom assistant, after school daycare assistant and bus attendant. She often spoke of her enjoyment of working with children and other rewards of her tenure with EVSC.She enjoyed talking with family, friends and any stranger, reading, working crossword puzzles and playing bingo. Lorene is predeceased by parents Virgil and Mildred Hawes, husband William Adcock, son Mark Adcock, sisters Frances Sutton, and Marthella Benson and brothers George and Arthur Hawes.

She leaves to cherish heart memories, children Oliver(Saundra)Adcock of Indianapolis,IN,Debra Adcock of Evansville, IN.Granddaughters Lisa(Craig) Gilliard of Little Rock, AR, Olivia Adcock of Indianapolis,IN and great-granddaughter Lael GIlliard of Little Rock,AR.Surviving sisters and brothers, Kathleen Scruggs, Louisville, KY, Dorothy Baker, Henderson,KY, Reena(James)Bizzell, Warrensville Heights,OH, Riina(Billy)Davis, Henderson,KY, Roy Hawes, Cobden,IL, Byron(LaVoda)Hawes, Evansville,IN. In-laws Diane Hawes, Newburgh, IN, Patricia Adcock, Sacramento,CA, and Sam Benson of Louisville,KYand best friend Rita Calhoun of Evansville,IN. Lorene also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family has thanks and appreciation for the love, care and attention Lorene received from the employees at Columbia Healthcare.

Wake Service is February 20th, 2018 from 5-8pm at Osborne Funeral Home, located at 702 E Gum St. Evansville,IN. 47713

Homegoing celebration is February 21st,2018, 11am at Grace and Peace Lutheran Church located at 200 S. Boeke Road, Evansville, IN 47714.Visitation 9 am until start of service. Pastor Roberta Meyer officiating.
