Linda Jean Jackson born October 8, 1960 in Mt. Clemens, MI on the Military Base to the late Billy and Betty Smith sadly passed on to Glory on November 18, 2019 while at her home in Evansville, IN.
Linda was raised in Boston, MA and graduated from West Rosbury High School in 1978. She was an A student, played basketball and ran track. She then moved to Providence, RI where she furthered her education and worked as a radiology assistant. She belonged to a 12-step program and served on different committees. Linda also volunteered as a basketball coach for the Boys and Girls Club. Linda moved to Atlanta and attended Shorter University and became a preschool teacher. Wanting to be closer to her grandson Linda moved to Evansville, IN where she resided until her passing.
Linda was a very head strong she never took anything from anyone and could talk your ear off. She would help anyone she could. Linda loved fashion and hosting parties for her friends. She loved to sing, dance and spend time with her family and friends.
Linda is survived her stepmother who raised her; Doris Smith of Dorchester, MA, her daughter; Andrea Smith of Evansville, IN, son; Curtis Jackson Jr. of Atlanta, GA, her one and only grandson whom she adored; Andre Smith of Evansville, IN, sister; Barbara Hughes of Providence, RI, brothers; Carl and Michael Smith both of New Hampshire, and Paul (Gari) Brewer of Portland, OR, niece; Charmaine ”ChaCha” Smith of Atlanta, GA, nephews; Arnold Evans and General Smith of Providence, RI, longtime friend; Curtis Smith Sr. of Atlanta GA, and very best friend; Geneva Brown of Providence, RI, grand nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
She will be greatly missed and always loved. She will be in our hearts forever.
