Leslie Earline (Carson) Sanders, 72, of Evansville, IN, received her crown of glory on Friday, February 9, 2018.
Leslie was born March 23, 1945 in Springfield, TN. She graduated from Bransford High School in Tennessee. She received a business degree from Evansville College; later working for Mayor McDonald.
Leslie was a very active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, serving with the United Methodist Women. She loved to cook, crochet, sew and read. Leslie devoted her life to helping others.
Leslie is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mayme (Phipps) Carson; brother, Eugene Carson; children Christopher, Gregory, and Lindsay; and granddaughter Cierra Rollins.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Rev. Carlos A. Sanders, Sr.; sister Mayme Loretta Dycus; children Carlos Sanders, Jr. (Barbara) Tampa, FL; Candice Whitfield, Brent Sanders, Chandra Ingler (Shawn), Teresa McNary (Earl), Bryant Sanders, and Andre Sanders, all of Evansville. Grandchildren: Travis Sanders, Cynthia Sanders, Ashante Sanders, Darius Sanders, Markus Brown, Demario Sanders, Ja’Quan Sanders, Brooklynn Sanders, Kenadee Sanders, Kyron Rogers, Kelsie Ingler, Kreig Ingler, Jasmine McNary, Madison McNary, Gabriel McNary, and Jayden McNary. Great grandchildren: Travis Sanders, Jr. and Daniella Sanders; and three aunts and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday 9 to 11am with funeral service to follow at 11:00am at St. John United Methodist Church. Osborne has been entrusted with final care.
