Latoski Mccarty

May 25, 1943 — April 30, 2024

Latoski McCarty received her wings and flew home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 30, 2024, while at West River Health Campus, surrounded completely in the love of her family. Latoski was born the 10th of 13 children to the late James and Riva Lee (Taylor) Williams in Chicago, IL on May 25, 1943. She accepted Christ at an early age while she attended Holy Angels’ Catholic Church and school.

After high school, Latoski met and married Leo E. Dillon, II. Four children; Lynette, Lydia, Larina, and Leo E. Dillon, III were born of this union. While raising her four children, she attended classes and began her career as a Co-op property manager. Latoski married James McCarty (Aug. 1, 1974) and she was offered a career change which led her to become an Asset property manager moving her entire family to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands where they resided for 2 years. Returning to the States she continued her career as a property manager until retirement.

Latoski was a very loving, charitable, strong-willed, independent, and very proud woman. She was happiest spending time with her family. They meant the world to her. Mac and Tosh as they were affectionately known, loved entertaining and traveling with family and friends. She loved cooking for her family and spent a lot of time just hanging out with them. Cutting up, eating, laughing, listening to R&B music, singing, and dancing! As long as they were together, it really didn’t matter what the occasion. Every holiday was spent with family and friends always surrounding her in pure love.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; James L. McCarty, brothers; James Lowell, Hue Darrow and Melvin Dunn (Ricky) Williams. Her Sisters; Ann Lois Gnatz, Sister Larina Williams, Riva Lea Bourne, Shawn Orlene Williams, Beverly Ann Gray, and Stephanie Marie Williams, grandson; Darryl Simms, son-in-law Julius Barnes and brother-in-law; Frank Waters.

Left to cherish fond memories of Latoski are her children, Lynette Dillon, Lydia Barnes, Larina Minor (Timothy), Leo E. Dillon, III (Lucy), Gwen Kelley, and Cathy Finley (Sam) Grandchildren; Larina Clinkscales, Dejuan Simms (Regina), Shawnea Bell (James), Alexis Dillon, Leo Maliki Dillon, Alliyah Dillon and Benjamin Mathew Dillon.
