Kevin Ganeil Odom

Kevin Ganeil Odom, 67, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026. He was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana on January 29, 1959 to Wilbur Hackner and Ardella Odom. Kevin, known as “Lil Hack” growing up, was lovingly known for his blunt and funny personality. He attended Lincoln school and went on to graduate from Central High School. During his youth, Kevin played sports, including basketball, football, track and later participated in sports overseas. He served three years in the navy and the navy reserves. During that time he was awarded the Battle “E” award, the Navy and Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. Kevin often shared stories of his travels overseas and was a proud veteran. He had a love for cooking, he enjoyed watching action movies, and spending time with family and friends. He worked as a cook at the Executive Inn, Tumbleweeds, Golden Corral, Denny’s, and Catfish Willy’s. He was loved by many and loved his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind his daughter Brittney Odom, son Damien Odom, step-daughters Shanda Brown and Tynisha Stewart. Grandchildren, Ahmir, Kyonni, KyAvion, Donnie, Dervontae, Demarien, DeNyjah, and great-granddaughter Kaelyn. Brother Keith Odom, sisters Alea Skelton, Sheila Tyler, and Karlan Hughes, eldest nieces and nephews, Rhason, Anna, Malcolm, Antoine and a host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Jean Brown.
