**Obituary for Kenneth Edward Carter Sr.**

Kenneth Edward Carter Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 64, surrounded by the love of his family at Linda White Hospice.

Kenneth was born on March 3, 1962, in Evansville, Indiana, to Larry "Matt-Dee Shamsid Deen" Offutt and Lola Belle Wall-Carter. He was a proud member of Progressive Holy Temple and devoted many years to working at various local establishments, including EHA, Evansville Natural Stone, Prickly Pear Restaurant, and Morrison's Cafeteria, where he lovingly claimed to be "not a chef," but rather a creator of culinary delights. Kenneth considered himself the Master of the barbecue grill.

A man of many passions, Kenneth found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an enthusiastic fan of U.K. Basketball and the Denver Broncos. His love for sports extended beyond mere spectating; he actively engaged in boxing, swimming, hunting, and fishing. Kenneth was also known for his strategic mind, often found engaged in a game of chess. Kenneth also enjoyed movies, with some of his favorites being Young Guns, The Revenant, Tombstone, Rosewood, and Blood In Blood Out. His laughter and joy resonated with all who knew him, as he cherished good times with family and friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers Edward Theodore Dodson Sr. and James Holman Sr., and his great-great-granddaughter, Gianna Reign Hughes. He leaves behind a rich legacy of love, survival, and resilience.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Robin Rankin-Carter; his daughters, Tahitisha Carter (Donnell Davis), Danaya Carter(Derrick Beans), and Ahnalisa Carter; and his sons, Kenneth Carter Jr. (Lameisha Adams), Jamel Norman (Ashley), DeMario Killebrew, Jordan Michael Killebrew, and Michael Scott (Connie Cartwright). In addition, Kenneth is survived by his brothers, Tony Collins and James Holman Jr.; his sisters, Bessie Ann Lewis (Ricky), Terry Lynn Mathis (Andrew), Sharene Holman, and Carla Holman; and sister/cousin Nicole Vanhook 24 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Memorial Baptist Church on March 27, 2026, with a public viewing scheduled for 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Kenneth will be laid to rest at 1:00 PM at 1400 E Virginia Street, Evansville, IN.
