Keely Ann Meriwether

January 17, 1972 — May 1, 2025

Evansville

Keely Ann Meriwether, born January 17, 1972, departed for eternal rest on Friday, May 1, 2025, in Evansville, Indiana. She was the beloved and youngest daughter of the late Lawrence and Gornetta Meriwether. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 21st, at McClure’s Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 11 a.m., until service time at the church.

Keely was a 1989 graduate of Harrison High School and was fondly remembered for her deep passions and curiosity for current events and world affairs. She traveled abroad to experience other cultures as an extension of her love for reading and learning new information. Whether it was researching topics like politics, finance, science or local student’s performance on state standardized tests, she felt joy when she could discuss or vigorously debate these topics with family and friends. Keely volunteered for local political candidates’ campaigns, she was a member of the NAACP Evansville Branch and was passionate about pouring over the issues of the day. She desired others to be as engaged as she had become. As a special touch, she took special moments to encourage, some would say challenge, family and friends alike to do more, think differently and try new things. This same passion fueled her joy for cooking and watching NFL games.

At a young age, she trusted the Lord as her Savior and was a member of McClures Memorial Baptist Church. Previously, Keely worked for Azteca Milling and CenterPoint Energy, holding positions of responsibility that impacted the productivity of both companies.

Keely is survived by her brothers Lawrence H. Meriwether Jr., Torrence Meriwether, Royce Sutton (Lori), Tony Howell; her sisters Darla Meriwether, Debra Meriwether-Baltzell; her uncle Lee Meriwether (Carol); her aunt Dahlia Joan Lyons (Lewis). She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Her spirit and zest for life will long be remembered and greatly missed. Osborne Funeral Home has been entrusted with Keely’s final care.
