On July 26th,1958, Jtanya Renee Moore was born in Birmingham, AL to the late Clarence Williams and Bernice Moore. She was the third of eight children. She grew up in Gary, IN, where she was a graduate of Horace Mann High School.
She was also affectionately known as Tanya. After some considerations in life, she passionately began her career in the medical field, which influenced her daughter and granddaughter to pursue careers within the same capacity. Very charismatic and charming, Tanya had a magnetic glow. With a strong personality to match, it is conceivable that she could accomplish anything that she put her mind to. While working in the medical field, she would exude genuine care for her clients and befriend many of them. She stood up for what was right in her eyes!
Jtanya had the vibrance and strength of ten or more woman, her favorite niece Jamieka Teniel Taylor would say. Jtanya wouldn't hesitate to let you know Jamieka and her son David are her "Twins." Oh Jtanya loved her some "Mi Mi," which was her nickname for Jamieka.
As Jtanya found her footing in life, people she knew would speak about how pleasant and joyful she would be, always willing to be a voice of reason. Jtanya had a very infectious smile and radiated with natural beauty. As a God-fearing Christian woman, her homes would always be riddled with biblical scriptures, butterflies, and more scriptures, angels and elephant figurines (with the trunk up of course)!
One poem really resonated with her, and if you knew her personally you would have always seen the "Footprints" poem in one or more places throughout her home:
Jtanya is survived by five siblings: Brothers: Clarence Moore of North Dakota, Melvin Moore of Georgia, Daryl (Esther) Moore of OH; and two Sisters: Lisa (Anthony) Reed of GA, and Kimberly Coleman of OH.
JaTonya leaves to mourn four Children: Toya (Tony) Allison of IN, Lynell Littles of MN, David L Alexander of IN, Marja Rice of MI; also, six Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her late parents Clarence & Bernice Moore, Norma Jean Douglas (Sister), Margie Sedgewick (Sister) and JaMaurice (Grandson), MarJaeus -Kane(Grandson) Mulan-Jhene (Granddaughter).
