The loving spirit of Jimmie Ross Woolfork Sr., of Providence, KY ascended into eternal rest on March 14, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. As the second child of Charlie Woolfolk and Odie Inez Blackburn-Woolfork, he was born on June 22, 1931 in Providence, KY.
Upon years of young adulthood, Jimmie devoted himself to his country by serving in the U.S. Army. In years to follow, this later influenced his devotion to Webster County as a long-term law enforcement official. Over the span of 42 years, Jimme was commonly known for his work with Providence Police Department, Webster County Sheriff's Department and Webster County Courthouse. As an outcome of his works, he remains well known and affectionately respected within his community.
Outside of work, Jimmie could be found enjoying sports entertainment, bowling, golfing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. As an active member and servant of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, he often expressed love of his pastor and church family. Jimmie was a loving father, grandfather, sibling, uncle, and friend to many. Several attest to his diligent conscientiousness, spirit of kindness and the love he had for life.
In addition to his parents, Charlie Woolfork and Odie Inez Blackburn-Woolfork, Jimmie was preceded in death by; one brother, John Royster; and three sisters, JoAnn Brooks, Margarete Jean Pillow, and Betty Jane Davis.
He leaves behind to cherish loving memories, a wife, Delores Woolfork; three sons; Jimmie (Karen) Woolfork Jr. of Evansville, IN, Michael Woolfork III (Tami Reid) of Louisville, and Colin Woolfork III (Angel Martin); two daughters, Belinda Crawford and Velinda Woolfork of Madisonville; two brothers, Silas (Kathy) Woolfork and Aurelious (Estelita) Woolfork of Providence; two sisters, Carolyn Hooks (Thomas) and Gwendolyn Underwood (David), a special son; Earlie Rupert of Henderson; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
Services for Jimmie will be held Saturday, March 18th at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 904 Westerfield Dr. in Providence, KY at 1:00 P.M. visitation will be 11 to 1 pm with burial at Cumberland Cemetery in Providence, KY following service.
