“My Life”
I, Jane LaVera Thompson, was the fourth child born to the late Deacon Odell and Vera Thompson on January 19, 1966. I was affectionately called “LuLu” by friends and family members. Preceding me in death were my eldest brother Harold Thompson and my beloved parents.
My education began at William W. Carter Elementary School, and I later attended Beasley Academic Center Junior High School. In 1986, I graduated from Hyde Park Career Academy. After high school, I continued my education at Dawson Skill Center and Olive-Harvey College before graduating from Harold Washington City College.
Mourning my passing are my children, Terrance Sr., Antony, Donjanae, Donald, and Amanda; my grandchildren LiahNiyah, Amoni, Antiyona, Terrance Jr., Wynter, Josiah, Amariya, Jalia, and Ayce; my two brothers Adrian and Tremell; my sister Leatrice; my bonus siblings Terrance, Robert, Austin, Janet, Stephanie, Clem, and Jennifer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and my church families.
“When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be.” See you there!
