James Lee “Chicken Man” Baker aka Moose, 74 of Evansville, IN departed to his heavenly home Tuesday October 23, 2018.
James was a long-time member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church and graduated from Bosse High School, where he was famous for being on the football field. He was employed at the Chicken Shack, Evansville Veneer, and Shoneys. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, football and old western movies. He was born to Emma Lee (Bacon) Baker and Richard Baker in Cadiz, KY who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ann Baker; grandparents Birdie Bacon, and Jerry Bacon; brothers Arthur “Pete” Baker and Charles Baker, and nephew Timothy Bailey.
Surviving are three daughters Lisa (Mark) Moore, Dallas TX, Maria Ann Baker, Indianapolis, IN and Misty Rentin. Three sons Scott Baker, Jimmie Rentin, and Robert Killebrew all from Evansville, IN. Sisters Dorothy Baker, Hazel Townsend, Janie Blanton, and Carolyn (Charles H) Farmer all from Evansville, IN, brother Mitchell Baker of Hagerstown, Md. Three grandchildren, Sentoria Washington of Indianapolis, Fletcher Byrd Jr of Indianapolis and Isaiah Jones of Evansville IN. One Great-Granddaughter Zhnaya Byrd of Indianapolis. He has a host of nieces and nephews, Darlene Chandler, Cordelia Baker, LeKevin Baker, Olaseni (Erica) Blanton, Kartanya Blanton, Karnesha March, Chotsani (Derrick) Stewart, Chanua (Erica) Farmer, Chavon Farmer, Carmen Baker, Gretchen Blackwell, Arthur Pete Jr (Jill) Baker, and Demetrius Baker.
