Elder Jacob "Jake" Carl Dixon

Jacob "Jake" Dixon was born June 17, 1927 in Corydon, KY. Jake was 89 years old and left this earth and became transparent with the Lord on January 21, 2017 while at his home. He was the son of the late Joe and Florence Dixon.

Jake accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful and dedicated Christian to his calling in the ministry. Jake was a true man of God and a true friend. Jake was loved by all who knew him. He always had a word of God to take with him. Jake loved hunting, fishing and selling and dressing goats for those who wanted mutton for the holiday throughout the Tri-state. He was known by everyone.

Jake was married to his soul mate for over 28 years, the late Alena Dixon, and to this union 9 children were born. Jake will be truly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Jake is preceded in death by one son; Lester Dixon, one daughter; Faye Dixon, great-grandson; Cordtaye Dixon, two granddaughters; Takila Dixon and Shania Floyd; three brothers; Alfred Dixon "MY", George Dixon "Horbert" (Ann) and John Henry Dixon, sisters; Elizabeth Carter, Lucille Brooks and Pauline Green.

He leaves to cherish his memories; six sons; James Everheart (Leslie), Ronnie Dixon(Debra), Darrell Dixon (Sherry), Carl Dixon, Michael Dixon and Ben Dixon (Lisa), one daughter; Cindy Floyd (Earl), brother; Robert Dixon (Pauline), daughter in law Carolyn, three special sister-in-laws; Florence Posey, Pauline Dixon and Bertha Compton as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Jake will be truly missed by family and friends. He will always be remembered by those who loved him. We love you Pops.
