In Loving Memory of Hugh William Crowe Jr., It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh William Crowe Jr., who left us on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. Hugh was born on June 5, 1947, to Hugh Crowe, Sr. and Lois Watkins Crowe in Evansville, Indiana.
Hugh proudly served in the U.S. Army, He retired from Cummings Sales after 48 years, where he was a diesel Technician. Hugh was a dedicated worker and also wanted to ensure his fellow workers received fair compensation and safe work conditions. With that in mind, Hugh served as District Lodge 153 Evansville Trustee and then president for five years. Local Lodge 153 president for 20 years District Lodge 90 Indianapolis Trustee for several years
. He helped negotiate several labor contracts with companies like Cummins Sales and Service, Crescent Plastics, and Silgan Caps, all in Evansville, Crestline Plastic Pipe, Henderson, Kentucky, and Grote Manufacturing in Madison Indiana. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union for over 40 years. He was also an auto mechanic trained at North High School.l Hugh enjoyed life to the fullest. Fixing things was his passion, he loved a challenge. If something was unfixable, he would fix it. He loved to work on anything. Many other things gave him joy. He liked to cook, fish, and hunt. Pool, bowling, and basketball were some of his hobbies.

Hugh will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Hugh is preceded by his parents; Hugh Sr. and Lois Crowe, brothers; Eugene and Bobby Crowe and great-grandson; Tayvon Goines

He is survived by his wife of 57 years; Vita Crowe, son; Hugh Crowe III (Christy), daughter; Veronda Marie Crowe, brothers; Edward Crowe and Fredrick Crowe, sister Loleta Johnson, 3 grandchildren, a host nieces, nephew, extended family and friends

The family would like to thank Gateway ICU and Neuro for the top-notch level of care you gave our loved one, you let him keep his dignity.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, March 2, 2024, at The Rock Church,1900 North Fulton Ave, Evansville, IN. Visitation will be from 10 am until 11 am at the church.
