Howard W. Brooks was born on August 17, 1939 to the late Thelma and Staunton Brooks in Hopkinsville, Ky. Howard departed this life on May 26, 2019 at 3:15pm at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.
Howard graduated from Roosevelt High School in Kentucky. He joined the Army in May of 1961. Howard was employed at Alcoa for 28 years before retiring and then coming back to Alcoa as an independent contractor. He also performed many other jobs after he retired. The latest being a bus driver for Solarbron.
While being a faithful member at Memorial Baptist Church, he contributed to the Usher board. He was also a member of the Otis Stone American Legion.
On June 10, 1961, he married the love of his life Madeline Traylor and they had three daughters and one son, Karen Brooks, Karol (Geoffrey) Malone residing in Evansville, In., Kerri (Darryl) Simpson residing in Fayetteville, NC., and John Nelson also residing in Evansville, In., who are left to cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Madeline, great granddaughter Dezi’Ana Marion, and nephew Staunton Brooks.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kalee (Melanie) Albert, Keshia (De’Andre) Coleman, Quiana Malone, Kameron (Jenni) Malone, Tahirah Brooks-Hall, Bilal (Abriah) Abdul-Wali, Omar Abdul-Wali, Hannah Nelson and Tamerah Sebree .Eleven great grandchildren, Mia Christian-Albert, Raelyn Smith, Ka’Shawn Eastwood, Kyndall Coleman, Dez’NyAnya Marion, Qui’Aryon Marion, Kaleem Abdul-Wali, Nima Abdul-Wali, Kaidyn Malone, Elijah Fife, and Seven Brooks-Hall. One brother Staunton Brooks and nieces and nephews. A special friend Mrs. Betty Outlaw and his beloved four legged partner Puzzles.
