Herman Goodwin Jr.

Herman Goodwin, Jr. born February 9, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Herman and Gladys Goodwin sadly passed away November 6, 2020 while at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Violet, granddaughter Diamond Carroll, two brothers; James (Gladys) and Jerome, two brothers-in-law: Lawrence and Paul, and dearest friend Phillip (Scratch). Herman had a quiet disposition and loving heart, but “Beware”. He was educated in the Detroit Public Schools System. Jr. attended New Starlight Baptist Church as a child and young adult and was baptized under the late Rev. Petty. Jr. was employed at Palace Quality Laundry and Chrysler Corporation for many years until his health begin to fail. Jr. pastimes included watching wrestling, Sanford & Son as well as Western movies. He also enjoyed playing spades, horseshoes and dominoes. His love for dominoes earned him a page excerpt in the Detroit Free Press. This accomplishment gave him bragging rights in his community. Herman Jr. leaves to cherish his memories his children Herman (LeeAnn), Nakiatra, Regina, Francetta and Antione. 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, four siblings: Louise, Patricia, Nathaniel and Deborah of Detroit, Michigan and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
