Helen Anetha Wallington was born in Milan TN to Clifton and Liza House Chatman on July 21,1934. On Sunday Morning February 26,2017, Helen passed away at the age of 82 at the Charlier Hospice, surrounded by the love of her family.
Helen was a longtime devoted member of Grace and Peace Lutheran Church, helping where she could.
Helen worked for the Whirlpool corporation for many years, and retired from Alcoa Aluminum after more than 20 years of service. Helen was an avid bowler and she also enjoyed playing bingo, but the greatest joy of her life was her grandchildren. She always put the needs of her family before her own. Helen had a loving heart and a selfless spirit. She was a devoted wife, the best mother, and a caring friend.
Helen is preceded in death by her brother; Clifton Chatman Jr. and granddaughter; Khloe Miller.
Helen is survived by her husband of
60 years, Robert Wallington, daughters; Kathy Wallington of Evansville, IN and Janice Duncan, Cincinnati, OH, Brothers; Devon (Reda) Cunningham of Martin, TN, Cecil Chatman of Jackson, TN, and Tomy (Margaret) Chatman of Columbus, OH. Sisters Carolyn (Willie)Talley of Nashville, TN, Doris (George)Clemons-Hill of Jackson, TN, Mary Louise Chatman of Atlanta, GA and Linda(Sam) Hines of Memphis, TN. She also leaves to cherish her memory grandchildren Danielle, Mitchell and Claire Duncan all of Cincinnati, OH, Cheyenne Miller of Evansville and her pride and joy great granddaughter, Olivia Miller of Evansville, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A special thank you to Mary Warfield (Helen’s BFF) Gayle Garrett and Angela Higgins for their love and support in her last days.
The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Manga Kodali and the Deaconess Gateway Nurses and Staff and all who gave such wonderful care to Helen during her courageous battle.
