Geneo Shane

January 4, 1959 — June 11, 2016

Our Father always knows what's best so on Saturday, June 11, 2016 he called Geneo Shane home to rest with his devoted and faithful wife Electra by his side at their home. Geneo was born January 4, 1959 in Evansville, IN to Gladys Shane-Dorsey and James Miles.

The family later moved to Milwaukee, WI where he attended and graduated from Messner Catholic School and went on to attend Ambrose University College in Davenport, Iowa where he studied Business Management.

Geneo later returned to Evansville and was employed with Citizens Bank as a bank teller and also worked part time as a cashier at Stop/Go where he met Electra Bounds and they became united in marriage in 1987. They returned to Milwaukee WI where he enlisted in United States Army.

He served in several countries . He became stationed in Heidelberg Germany and received the following medals; Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service and Queseas Service Ribbon. His military education also included carpentry and a massonary specialist.

After being discharged from the Army he remained in Germany working as a civilian on post. After returning to the states and living in St. Louis working for Metro Transit he returned to Evansville.
He united with Little valley Church under the leadership of Pastor Harlan Taylor and was baptized. He faithfully worked with the youth preparing and serving breakfast every Sunday morning. He also assisted and worked on the media and several aspects of the church.

After meeting once again Geneo and Electra were once again reunited in marriage in 2007 by Pastor Adrian M. Brooks Sr.

Geneo enjoyed life and was employed by Berry Plastic until his health begin to fail him in 2015. He loved fishing , football, basketball and loved U.A.F.A. Soccer.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Electra, his children Torice Geneo Johnson(Tonia) of Phoenix, AZ, Jessica Shane(Bryant Fletcher) Evansville, Tamara Wagner of Heidelberg , Germany ,four brothers , Ricardo Hughes(Darlene) Milwaukee, WI, and Orlando Jose’ and Brian Dixon of Evansville, IN, and Timothy Miles(Dana) of San Jose’, CA. Sisters Sherry Hopson (Stanley) of Indianapolis, IN and Angela Higgins of Evansville, eight grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and “sister in laws’ Faye Rhodes and Bertha Weekly (Johnny Golden), special friends; Richard “Daren” Duncan, David Wilson, Dale Gilliam and Joe Walker.

Geneo is preceded in death by his parents; Gladys Shane-Dorsey and James Miles. sister; Rev. Kim Smith-Payne and his great aunt who shared his birthday Ruby Miles-Lester.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice and Dr Inzerello for all of their attentiveness and care.
