Eva was born in Muhlenberg, KY on June 1, 1932, the eldest of nine children of the late Lucille (Johnson) and James Gott.
Eva was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Mothers Board she was a retired CNA from Little Sisters of Poor, where she started working after an early retirement from St Mary's Hospital.
Eva loved to travel with family and her dear friends, her and her husband joined together with her friends Thomas and Christell Fykes and formed Clayton and Fykes Tour they took bus trips all over the country taking family and friends from one adventure to the next.
Eva was a patient, loving mother always had something to eat for anyone who came through door which was always open .Eva was a welcoming caring woman who never complained. She loved children and you could aways find her house full of family and little ones .
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, son Christopher Clayton and brothers Billy Gott and wife Phyllis, Homer Gott and Robert”Donnie” Gott and” son” in law Archie Briggs.
Eva leaves to cherish fond memories her husband Christopher “Bobby” Clayton , devoted daughters Katherine Briggs, Renee Clayton, Pamelia Clayton, all of Evansville, IN; Eva is also survived by sisters, Eunice (Jerry Osborne), Ora Lee Thompson, of Evansville; Linda Bard of Greenville, KY; Helen Gott, of Cleaton,KY; and brother, Eugene,( Kathy )Gott), of Terre Haute; 2 aunts Leola Johnsonv,Central City,KY and Margie Drake, Chicago IL and uncles Shirley Gott, Chattanoga TN and Robert T. Gott of Central City,KY
She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren ,nieces ,nephews, extended family and friends
