Eugene "Mangene" Booker

June 3, 1921 — April 30, 2021

Eugene “Mangene” Booker passed away on Friday, April. 30, 2021 at Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was born on October 3, 1921, to Bertha and James Oliver Booker in Coffee County, Alabama who preceded him in death.
Mangene left his hometown at a young age for a better opportunity in Evansville, IN. He started his first job at Reis Tire Company. After years of working and providing for his family, Mangene retired and still got up every morning to go scraping to make sure ends were met.
Everyone around Evansville knew when they saw the truck “Tuff E’ Nuff” on it it was Mr. Booker. Mangene enjoyed his life beyond measure and found fulfillment in supporting his kids and grandkids in all sporting events. His favorite pastime was watching NBA games and mentoring children, relative or not.
Left to cherish in his memory his wife, B. Jean Booker of 52 years, one daughter Dorothy (William) Washington, three sons Roy Booker, Kirth (Mary) Booker, Kevin (Melody) Booker of Evansville, IN.; a sister Edna Vick of Dayton, Ohio and a host of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
