Eugene Leonard Ballance Sr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eugene L Ballance Sr. on 6/22/2025 in Evansville IN. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a brief illness.

Eugene L Ballance Sr. Born on 5/8/1947 in Seaside Ca. He attended Seaside High School and pursued a career as a Firefighter/ Bus driver. Over the years, he retired as a Bus driver with METS City of Evansville IN

Eugene L Ballance Sr. Will be remembered for his "kindness and dedication – His love for his family and his keen since of discernment. (Quick to tell you, that you are full of it). Committed deeply to family, work, or community," Storytelling – Had a knack for weaving funny tales that entertained. "Dedication to friends and strangers alike," Infectious – Laughter that spread to everyone around him. He loved driving that City Bus and was passionate about "helping others," in the community. He took pride in his work and the connections he built along the way. Gave freely, whether it was time, advice, or a good joke Eugene always had that infectious laughter and touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

He is survived by: Mary Lucille Ballance "his loving wife, his children, Gelenda Ballance, Eugene L Ballance Jr., Gennetta Ballance, Satina Ballance, Justen Ballance; and grandchildren. Darius Ballance, Jace-Patrick Ballance, Tamika White, Daniel White Jr., La 'Raye Wiley, Jacob Griffin, Brandon Beverly, Emoni, Sterling, Devon, with several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and siblings. Choate, Steve, Calvin, Larry, Clifford, David, Darryl, Dwayne, Hazen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dores Choates (Pearl) daughter Gloria G Ballance, his brother, Charlie Witcom, Rodney Choates and sister Anngie Choates.
