Ethel Mae Thomas was born on The Green Farm in Henderson, Kentucky. On March 17,1927 to Ted R. Baker Senior and Verna Lee (Chaney) Baker. She went to grade school in Cordon, Kentucky up until the ninth grade. In 1952, she moved to Evansville, Indiana and worked as a housekeeper as well as doing her side jobs. She loved church and attended Memorial Baptist Church until her health failed. She was on the motherboard, choir, and amongst other things. She loved her blues, playing cards on Saturdays with her kids. She loves flowers and her cats. But she enjoyed it when her family and friends came to visit her. She lived a good life and throughout that life she had ten kids. On March 11, 2022, the good Lord called her home.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband; George A. Thomas, children; Micheal W. Thomas, Pamela K. Thomas, Ethel M. Thomas Jr., brothers; Ted Baker Jr. , and Walter Baker.
She leaves to cherish her memory Andrew L. Thomas Jr. (Linda), Carolyn M. Graves, Thelma A. Pullom, Alfred Thomas (Mary), Cheryl A. Knuckles (Carey), John D. Thomas ( Arthena) and George W. Thomas (Mary) of Evansville, Indiana. Her brother Wilbur Baker (Betty) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sister Verna hewlett of Indianapolis, Indiana, and her sister Patricia Flemmings and Sandra Frazier of Evansille, Indiana, and her sister-in-law Anita Baker of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 38 grandkids, 89 great-grandkids, 59 great grandkids, and great great great grandchildern and a host of nieces and nephews. Mom wanted to give special thanks to Andrew (Tootie), Jerolyn, Tamela, Frank, Terry D and Thema R (Thae-Thae)..
A visitation will be held Thursday 10 to 11am with funeral to follow at 11 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church.
