Mrs. Esther C. Cook-Phipps was born on March 1,1926 in Clarksville, TN. To the union of Rev. Lee D. Cook and Clara Bowman Cook. She professed a hope in Christ early in her life. She was united in matrimony with Mr. Edward M. (Pete) Phipps Sr. December 24, 1949 whom proceeded her in death. Mrs. Phipps was a dedicated member of St. Johns United Methodist Church where she served as a committed Communion Steward and a member of the United Methodist Women for many years. She was as shining example of a Proverbs 31 woman (12-31).
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Estelle Moss and Pearl Jones and brother Clemon Cook, and a great-granddaughter; Brooklyn G. Fox.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memory 4 daughters; Brenda Frazier of Solon, OH., Deborah Downey (Hazel) of Franklin, KY., Sharon Outlaw and Lisa Fox (Michael T.) both of Evansville, IN., 2 sons; Larry E. Sr. of Lewisville , TX. and Edward M. Jr. of Evansville, IN., 13 grandchildren; Larry Jr., Terrence Phipps, Otto Tate (Alethea), Jason Frazier, LaJaune Dulin, Nijel Downey (Jodie), Cory and Brandon Outlaw, Andre Lewis (Tabrielle), LaNisha Sherman, Nicole Phipps, LaShawn, Bobby Fox Jr., (35) great-grandchildren, (18) great-great grandchildren, sister -in-laws; Ann Phipps and Wilma Jones, a host of special nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Services will be private.
