Eric Allen King passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. He was born on April 4, 1950, in Evansville, Indiana.

Eric was known to many as his childhood nickname "Negale". He was affectionately called this by many people until his passing. Eric graduated from Central High School in Evansville, Indiana. His smooth voice led him to briefly be a radio broadcaster for WEOA. Eric also worked as a mentor to young boys and girls for a special program in the EVSC (Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation). He also worked for several years in dietary in hospitals and served as activities director in a nursing home. Eric was well-liked by classmates' friends, patients, and coworkers, He was always willing to help anyone in need. Eric was generous and loved his family.

Eric was dedicated to his church and church family. He was on the Deacon's Board at Victory Temple C.O.G.I.C. He also was a superb usher and Sunday School Teacher as well. Eric always wanted to be of service to the congregation, no matter what. He enjoyed attending church and reading. Eric also enjoyed watching Western movies and going to flea markets with his wife Betty. His favorite pastime was getting in his car riding.

Sadly, Eric lost his father, Frank King, at the age of three. However, he was blessed to have had a loving and dedicated mother Florence King Fleming for almost 70 years of his life. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Dana Fleming and Kenneth King. His stepson, Gary Goodwin and his stepfather, John Fleming.

Eric is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Betty, stepsons, sons, Warren(Nakia) Goodwin and Darnell(Darlene) Pride, daughter-in-law; Misty Goodwin, brothers; Dennis(Regina) King, Michael King, David King, and Brent Fleming, sisters; Rev. Faye Daniels, Jacqueline King, Gail Garnett, Dr. Linda(David) McGhee and Jennifer Fleming. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews, who lovingly referred to him as "Uncle Eric "

Visitation will be held Friday, June 7th from 9 to 11 am with funeral to begin at 11:00 am all at Victory Temple C.O.G.I.C. Burial, Oak Hill Cemetery following service
